RESMAR Project Team Conducted Business Continuity Briefing for OIZs in İzmir 25 March 2026

The team of the “Making Industrial Organizations Resilient to Disasters with a Business Continuity Management Approach (RESMAR)” Project, co-financed by the European Union and AFAD, continues to disseminate the experience gained through its activities across the entire country.

The RESMAR Project team conducted a technical briefing meeting for Organized Industrial Zones in İzmir, Aydın, and Manisa provinces to increase the resilience of industrial infrastructure against disasters. Hosted by Mr. Nazif EKİNCİ, the Provincial Director of İzmir AFAD, the meeting was held at the İzmir AFAD Provincial Directorate Disaster Management Center. During the session, business continuity planning processes aimed at protecting the production and service capacity of industrial facilities in the aftermath of disasters were discussed.

The program commenced with opening remarks by the Deputy Governor of İzmir, Mr. İsmail ÇORUMLUOĞLU. Subsequently, Mr. Mehmet Fatih ŞEN, Head of the Technological Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group, provided information on the objectives of the RESMAR Project and the strategic importance of business continuity. In the technical session of the meeting, RESMAR Project Team Leader Prof. Dr. İbrahim AKGÜN delivered a comprehensive training presentation on ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System standards, Business Impact Analysis (BIA), and risk assessment methodology. Within the scope of the meeting, an interactive session was held with the participation of 25 OIZ representatives, where technical processes for ensuring the operational continuity of industrial organizations were detailed.

The RESMAR Project Team remains resolutely committed to transferring the high synergy created in the Marmara Region to other regions of our country, aiming to ensure that our industry is prepared for disasters and that the business continuity culture is disseminated throughout Türkiye.
