Business Continuity Fieldwork Completed at Bursa Demirtaş OIZ under the RESMAR Project 26 January 2026

Technical information meetings and field visits were carried out at Bursa Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone (DOSAB) within the scope of the “Making Industrial Organizations Resilient to Disasters with a Business Continuity Management Approach: Marmara Region Application (RESMAR: Resilient Marmara)” Project, which aims to increase the resilience of Organized Industrial Zones (OIZ) in the Marmara Region against disasters and crises and is co-financed by the European Union (EU) and AFAD.

Within the scope of the two-day intensive work program; the RESMAR Project Team met with DOSAB Regional Directorate managers, technical personnel, and representatives of participating companies operating in the region.

On the first day of the activities, information meetings regarding Business Continuity Management System (BCMS)processes were held with the OIZ management and technical teams. During the meetings; the region's current disaster preparedness levels, risk reduction strategies, and infrastructure resilience were evaluated in detail by expert teams.

One-on-One Technical Evaluations with Companies and Field Inspection

The second day of the activities was dedicated to technical working sessions held with representatives of industrial organizations. In one-on-one interviews with company officials; critical risks that could threaten the production processes of industrial facilities were discussed, and the importance of implementing business continuity plans was conveyed.

Key topics highlighted during the interviews included:

  • Business Continuity at Enterprise Level: Analysis of the suitability of existing plans to the dynamics of the enterprises.

  • Supply Chain Security: Evaluation of alternative strategies to ensure that raw material and logistics flows are not interrupted in the event of a disaster.

Following the completion of technical interviews, the program concluded with a field inspection visit carried out at the end of the day. Expert teams had the opportunity to observe the risk topics discussed in the interviews and production lines on-site.

In the evaluations made by the RESMAR Project Team; it was emphasized that business continuity plans should not remain only on paper but must be an applicable, living system at the level of institutions and enterprises. Concrete technical feedback was provided to enterprises to increase their corporate resilience capacities.

“Target: Resilient Industry, Strong Economy”

The RESMAR Project will continue its activities in the Marmara Region with the goal of ensuring that production, employment, and services in the industry continue uninterrupted under all conditions.
