RESMAR Project Team Participated in Business Continuity Training in the Netherlands 24 November 2025

Within the scope of the RESMAR Project, the AFAD Project Team participated in the Business Continuity Management (BCLE2000) training held in Almere, the Netherlands. Representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Technology and Provincial AFAD Directorates (Bursa, Sakarya, Kocaeli, and Istanbul) also attended the training.

The training was conducted on how the public and private sectors can prepare business continuity plans to increase resilience against disasters and shocks, and how to implement these plans within the business continuity management system. Throughout the four-day training, participants followed a comprehensive program covering international standards and practical examples in the field of business continuity management.

At the end of the training, participants had the opportunity to develop new approaches to strengthen coordination between public institutions and industrial establishments against disasters and shocks. In this context, the RESMAR Project's goal of making industrial establishments in the Marmara Region more resilient to disasters was supported by international expertise.

The dissemination of business continuity plans is at the center of Türkiye's disaster management strategies. The expansion of business continuity plans in the public and private sectors has been targeted within the framework of policies and measures in the 12th Development Plan (2024-2028), strategic priorities in the Türkiye Disaster Risk Reduction Plan (TARAP), and objectives and strategies in the Türkiye Post-Disaster Recovery Plan (TASIP).

This training received in the Netherlands represents a critical step in implementing these national strategies and actions. The knowledge and experience gained from the training will serve as a guide for the dissemination of business continuity plans not only to OIZs in the Marmara Region but also to all OIZs nationwide, production areas, and other sectors such as healthcare, commerce, transportation, and energy. Ensuring supply chain continuity, post-disaster economic recovery, and protecting production capacity are among the main objectives of these efforts.

Our Priority is the Marmara Region; Our Goal is All of TÜRKİYE!
