Field Studies Completed with the Drill Preparatory Meeting Held in Istanbul within the Scope of the RESMAR Project 14 October 2025

Within the scope of the RESMAR Project, carried out with the goal of a disaster-resilient industrial infrastructure, a drill preparatory meeting and field studies were conducted in Istanbul on September 30 - October 1, 2025.

During the study visit, technical evaluations regarding the drill planning were made during inspections at the drill site on the first day; on the second day, an informational meeting was held at the Istanbul AFAD Provincial Directorate with the participation of Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) representatives.

At the meeting, a briefing was given based on the Drill Roadmap prepared by Team Leader Prof. Dr. İbrahim Akgün, and sample scenarios were shared. The scheduling for the drill's implementation, the crisis desk setup, and the planning of participating institutions/organizations were discussed with the participants.

OIZ representatives requested support for employees to receive basic search and rescue training and certification.

The RESMAR Project Team stated that this drill, which will demonstrate how business continuity plans are tested in practice, is an important step towards the goal of ensuring the uninterrupted sustainability of production in OIZs after a disaster.
